Second Light and is about re-emergence. It is about making it through a difficult period. It is about reconnecting with part of me that makes music. The album was written, recorded in the later half of 2021 in a small cabin on Mt. Hood after a many-year break from music-making. The process felt like picking up where I left off — continuing the journey, now through different eyes.
The artwork creates the visual world for the album. The images were created by painting layers of transparent acrylic and custom-cut-shapes that are assembled and photographed — creating a unique sense of depth and immersion. Both the components — the audio and visual — where instrumental parts of coping with and healing from health challenges.
